Volumatic Asthma Spacer
The Volumatic Spacer is a holding chamber for use with asthma puffer style inhalers – Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI).
Using a spacer allows more medication to get down into the lungs where it is needed and less into the mouth where it can sometimes cause side effects.
- Suitable for children and adults (kids under 5 years use with a mask attached).
- Spacers should be checked by your pharmacist or nurse every 6 – 12 months to check the structure is intact (no cracks) and the valve is working properly.
- Research suggests that a puffer with a spacer is as effective as a nebuliser when treating asthma symptoms.
